Bright Source has the ability to provide importing help even to companies that are already experienced importers. We’ve provided import help to hundreds of satisfied customers, many of whom have already been importing items for their product lines. One of those customers, a specialty food and spice company, was importing miniature metal scoops from a factory in Germany to place in certain of its popular spice containers. The company realized that it needed Asian import help because as the Eurodollar began to rise against the US Dollar, the cost of importing the scoops from the current German source became prohibitively expensive. Additionally, the tiny metal scoops had to be placed in individual miniature plastic bags prior to their insertion into the spice containers, and the German company refused to place the scoops into the bags at the factory. Instead, the German factory exported the scoops to the company in bulk, so that the company had to incur additional domestic labor costs after the scoops were received in order to place the scoops into the individual bags prior to their placement into the spice containers.
The specialty food and spice company contacted Bright Source for help importing its metal scoops from Asia. Bright Source was able to provide just the import assistance the company required. Bright Source contacted its appropriate metal source in China to obtain a quote on a miniature metal scoop identical to the scoop produced for the company in Germany. The price of the scoop from the Chinese source was 75% of the current cost of the scoop from the German source, and the price from the Chinese source included the individual bagging of the scoops at the factory in China prior to export.
